People have been saying that the end of the world is coming for thousands of years, why is now any different?

Some of the people who predicted the end of the world were prophets, such as nostradamus, but they see things "long term" and their predictions were for the future.  But what most people refer to when they ask the above question, is that there have also always been "wackos" predicting the end of the world any day, without any reason other than misinterpreting the bible they waived around.  But the 20th century is very different.  It saw the beginning of many technological "advancements", and unusual social declines, that have great global impact, that never existed before. Earth Changes in the 20th & 21st centuries are now evidenced by scientific facts, not just unfounded "claims" being made by weirdoes and maniacs.  It's easy to see if you just control your fear and open your eyes without being afraid of what your going to find.  

For instance, in what earlier previous century has there been the capability of destroying all life on Earth, many times over?  Think about it, humans have always had wars, and they have never failed to use a new weapon. And now all it takes is just pushing a few buttons? And how about germ warfare, and chemical warfare - ever existed before? In what previous century has there been pesticides, and genetically modified food with pesticides and herbicides "engineered" into the food itself?  Irradiated food that uses nuclear waste to permanently sanitize food, while altering it with unknown results? Seeds that are designed to grow a food plant only one time - a plant who's own seeds will be useless for growing future crops?  In fact, recently the government did an emergency recall one of the great staples of food - corn, because a genetically modified strain not approved for human use, had gotten into the human food chain.  Chemicals in our food and in everything around us from cleaning agents to carpeting?  Pollution of all kinds from fossil fuels, to toxic chemicals leaching into the earth from dumps?  Antibiotics, and the resultant more potent germs that antibiotics are useless against (such as the new tuberculosis, syphilis, gonorrhea, hepatitis, staph and strep strains)? Deadly bacteria that lives in air-conditioning ducts (legionnaires disease)? Mad cow disease?  Flesh eating bacteria?  Genetic engineering?  Parts of the Pacific ocean with no fish, and 28 degrees hotter than normal?  Mass extinction of species.  A radical sperm count drop in male humans since the 50's?  Species being born sexless?  A substance called "plastic" that mimics the effect of estrogen in the human body?  People getting cancer at ever increasing rates because of toxic exposure?  A hole in the ozone layer so bad, that it causes sheep in Chile to go blind, then die?  An ozone layer so thin that people are getting skin cancer at an ever increasing and alarming rate.  A Sun that is now dangerous to us?  Mercury in fish around the world, created by pollution from coal burning power plants floating around the world and contaminating the oceans. Mercury so toxic that can cause retardation of a child if the mother even eats ONE fish dinner during, or before her pregnancy?  Acid rain from power plants that destroy buildings, the statue of liberty, and forests, including maple trees in Vermont (from power plants in the northern mid-west)? Water that is unfit and unsafe to drink because of man-made pollutants (they would have called you crazy 40 years ago if you said soon in the future people would be paying $2 a bottle for water instead of drinking tap water)?  New viruses and bacteria?  Ever increasing volcanic eruptions and earthquakes?  The melting of polar ice caps, and breaking up of the Antarctic? Radically increased levels of floods, forest fires and droughts?  Children killing other children, and sometimes their parents?  A drug problem?  The list goes on and on, but my wrists are hurting, so I'd better move on. So you tell me, is there any difference between people saying that the end of the world (as we know it) is coming now, and in previous centuries?

SIGNS & EVIDENCE THAT THE GREAT PURIFICATION HAS ALREADY BEGUN

Old News:  Just a few signs of a coming “Great Purification” (as native Americans call it): 

For those who aren’t aware of it, the government came out a couple of years ago and rescinded their strongly publicized statement that you could not get HIV from saliva, and now says you can.  That means it can be spread by sharing not just needles, but cigarettes, drinks, food, pipes, a cook tasting the food he's making, etc..  

By the way, do you know what animal kills more humans every year than any other?  Bears?  Tigers?  Snakes?  Spiders?  MOSQUITOES.  They are biological hypodermic needles and carry nearly 300 other diseases that they spread from person to person. We also believe that HIV is carried by mosquitoes, after all, people get it through accidental needle pricks through rubber gloves – why not from mosquitoes.  We heard rumors (although from a very good research source) of an entire large Mexican immigrant community in FL, who all got HIV.  No sex.  No drugs.  The only common factor – they lived in a swampy area with lots of mosquitoes.  Take it for what it’s worth – just thought we should pass it along.  

West Nile Virus, and the “West Coast Virus”:  For a couple of years, a new emerging virus, never before seen in the Western Hemisphere, has been infecting and killing birds.  Then the virus is transmitted to humans. Initially reported only in NY and Connecticut, it is spreading with bird migration, and transmitted both to birds and humans by – you guessed it - mosquitoes.  But the HIV virus can’t be spread that way, can it?  Another new virus has been spreading on the US west coast.  Not much news on that yet.

Chicken borne disease:  The following may not be exactly accurate (as if any "news" is these days), but it’s based on a story I saw on CNN. Apparently chickens have a bacteria in their intestines (not just Salmonella anymore) that can be deadly to humans. Allegedly it can be killed if you get the deepest inside parts of the chicken to 180 degrees while cooking. Sometimes that doesn’t happen though. In 1995, they started treating chickens with a powerful antibiotic. Soon they realized the bacteria was mutating to be resistant to the anti-biotic, and ordered it’s use stopped. The story only dealt with Minnesota for some reason, but they said this year alone over 3000 people have become sick from it in that state, and it is difficult to treat because of the anti-biotic resistance.

The equally horrific Ebola virus, continues to crop up in Africa, wiping out villages and medical personnel alike – fortunately, the isolation of tribal areas/small towns helps keep it from spreading too badly. US health officials consider that if it ever reaches the US, it will cause unprecedented disaster. 
Lyme disease, HIV, flesh-eating bacteria, and many other emerging viruses and bacteria, also continue to make strong headway.
While doctors and disease experts continue to warn of impending disaster from those, and the overuse of antibiotics, such problems continue to get far less (or no) coverage by most of the media.

Nature marches on to cleanse itself. Remember, we need to live as if we are a friendly bacteria to the Earth, like acidophilus is to us. It may be too little too late, or not save us. Since the rest of our species is targeted by nature for destruction, then it may have to take out some of the good with the bad. But it is just possible that if we are not one of the "pathogens", that nature will treat us differently. Nature is after all, one with, and a part of, the overall Universal Spirit/God. If you focus on first returning to Oneness with God, all will be well in any case, when all is said and done.

Attempts To Save Most Rainforests Doomed - Report

LONDON (Reuters) - Efforts to save most of the world's rainforests are doomed to failure and should probably be abandoned, according to a group of European scientists. They said intensive farming and logging meant that many rainforests were already beyond repair and suggested that conservationists concentrate on preserving the few areas that are not yet under pressure.

Reporting in the New Scientist magazine Wednesday, scientists at the European Commission's Joint Research Center in Italy gave a bleak outlook. ``The pressures to remove the forests are too great to be stopped, especially in places like Southeast Asia,'' said Frederic Achard of the Research Center.

The research team of 12 experts in tropical forests said there was no hope of stopping deforestation by logging companies and farmers in major rainforest regions such as Indonesia and much of the Brazilian Amazon. ``There is very little we can do to change the politics of these countries,'' Achard said.

The Indonesian island of Sumatra was pinpointed as the hottest of the deforestation hot spots. An island twice the size of Britain, it has lost virtually all its lowland forests in just 25 years, along with the animals that lived in them.

I. Man-Made Earth Changes

A. According to a recent Worldwatch Institute Report, "Life Support: Conserving Biological Diversity" By John C. Ryan..."An unprecedented biological collapse has begun worldwide."

B. Extinction Statistics: direct quotes from the Sierra Club Web Page (Clyde Dilley, author)

1.Three-forths of the world's bird species are declining in population or threatened with extinction.
2. Amphibians (Frogs, Salamanders and related species) are declining world wide.
3. In Indonesia, 1,500 local varieties of rice have disappeared in the past 15 years. Nearly three-fourths of the rice grown today descends from a single plant.
4. In the United States, about 3,000 plants, nearly one in every eight native species, are considered in danger of extinction. More than 700 are likely to disappear in the next ten years.
5. American oysters, once so numerous in the Chesapeake Bay that they could filter all it's water every three days, have declined in population by 99 percent since 1870. Now it takes a year for oysters to filter the same amount of water.

D. Coral Bleaching: "We may be witnessing an early warning of global changes which should represent a serious concern for the world." 1990 statement by Dr. T. Goreau & colleges of the Discovery Bay Maine Lab in Jamaica, testifying to a US committee on Caribbean coral bleaching.

1. Coral bleaching describes the conditions which arise when the temperature of the oceans rises from 2-3 degrees above normal. This causes the algae to dissipate, thereby killing the coral reef and affecting all marine life which depends on this structure. Since 1990, the following areas have been affected by coral bleaching: a. Caribbean. b. Arabian Gulf. c. French Polynesia. d. Thailand. e. Tahiti. f. Australia. g. South America

E. China Flooding - 1998 Yangtzee River flooding is the worst ever. It has crested 4 times this summer, and the crop damage is estimated in the millions. Environmental Earth News (ENN) indicates that this is a man-made problem caused by clear-cut logging activities. Chinese officials evacuated cities and blew up the dikes, allowing these areas to flood to save larger oil-producing cities downstream. Over 375,000 are homeless and 2,000 dead according to official Chinese statistics, which are always low. Global Information network reports that 14 million people have been relocated and 240 million have been directly affected because of this flood. An estimated 380 tons of waste and debris from China's flood have now reached the Sea of Japan, clogging shipping lines and creating a health hazard.
F. Dolphin and Whale Beachings according to Greenpeace are increasing at an alarming rate. Possible factors considered for this phenomenon are: (1) increased noise pollution in the seas, (2) illness from toxic pollution and (3) fluctuations in the earth's magnetic field causing their internal navigation systems to be disrupted.
G. Fish Feminization - DR, Travis of the University of Florida relates that certain chemicals, when exposed to light, cause hormone analogs, which creates an environment which will mimic estrogen, creating havoc in the male/female ratio. He also stated that alligators' sexual characteristics are determined by temperature, so global warming could be creating more female species. Scientists say because of the lack of necessary male/female reproductive organs, this will be the last generation of many bird, fish, and alligator species.
H. Vanishing Amphibians - Friends of Freedom Website: " Today many amphibian species are declining or vanishing altogether. Zoologist who study animals have been reporting gradual losses in amphibian populations for the last 25 years."
1.Reasons considered for this decline are: (1) habitat destruction (2) poison sprays killing insect which provide food (3) Acid rain and snow (4) forest burning (5) water born pollutants

Antibiotic Overuse and new "killer" anti-biotic resistant viruses and bacteria - Since the development and implementation of antibiotics, the process of natural selection has created strains of "super bugs" that are stronger than ever and antibiotic-proof. We have also seen new ones, like ebola, HIV, and more. We are also seeing a widespread increase in (Triclosan)"Nature" August 6, 1998 "Triclosan is a potent antibacterial and antifungal agent which is being used ever more widely to promote "germ-free" consumer products [bedding, socks, kitchen utensils, chopping blocks]. The indiscriminate or over-use of antibiotics has been widely blamed for the appearance of so called 'super bugs' -- bacteria that have developed resistance to the effects of antibiotic drugs, such as the new strains of tuberculosis. Laura McMurry....from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Mass., have now found that it does have a specific effect...as Triclosan kills off normal bacteria, it could make way for the growth of strains with Triclosan-insensitive enzymes.
J. Bee extinction and its ramifications - due to a strange parasitic disease, and takeover by "killer bees", the friendly and vital European honeybee that is responsible for pollenation of MANY crops is nearly extinct.

II. "El Nino" Related Earth Changes

El Nino has been blamed for many things in the last year, but no one ever talks about what is to blame for El Nino. But in any case, this phenomenon, an area in the Pacific Ocean larger than the US, is 28 DEGREES HOTTER THAN NORMAL! ALL the normal fish in the area ARE GONE.

A. Drought - The 1998 drought has caused $2.1 billion in damage to crops in Texas, $2 billion in Oklahoma, $175 million in Florida, and $400 million in Georgia. The corn crop in these areas is now past the point of potential. This is the worst drought since the 1950's (ENN)

B. Severe rains

1.South America have caused the Atacama Desert to bloom, introducing plant species never before recorded or catalogued. (ENN)
2. Crop Losses - Provided by Global Information Early Warning System of Food and Agriculture, August 27, 1998 report.
a. Bangladesh- 6,600 cattle lost, 760,000 hectares of farmland lost, 425,000 hectares of rice destroyed.
b. China - 22 million hectares affected, 4.8 million destroyed. 11% estimated loss of grain output.
c. Nepal - 1,160 hectares of crops destroyed, 300 head of cattle lost
d. India - 2 million hectares of land lost, crop estimates not yet in.

C. Water shortages in Java which have occurred were predicted by the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization before the onset of El Nino.
D. Wildfires - Florida has lost 485,000 acres of timber, totaling $300 million in unharvested lumber lost. In Indonesia, 300,000 acres have burned. Major fires also occurred this summer in Brazil, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Russia, Africa, and Canada.
E. Global Warming:

1. Quote from NOAA press release: "During the past few decades, global temperatures have per persistently broken previous highs every few years; but never to the extent observed in 1998. Each month this year has set a new all-time record high global temperature. This is unprecedented and is not likely to occur in a stationary climate. New analysis of tree rings, historical records and other proxy measures indicate that these temperatures are warmer than the planet has experienced for at least the last 600 years."
2. Quote from Nature, July 2, 1998: "Sea level rising by about 20 centimeters per century at the moment. This modest rise contrast with the dramatic changes that occurred at the end of the last ice age, when ice-sheet melting caused seal level to rise at rates of up to several meters per century. Average global temperatures may then have been only 2 degrees Celsius higher than now, raising concerns about the effects of global warming."

F. Arctic Spring: AP Science editor Matt Crenson reports: Spring is occurring 8 days earlier in the Arctic now than 8 years ago. A study published by Nature last year, written by Charles Keeling of the Scripps Institute, states that plants farther north are producing and using more carbon dioxide than they used to, showing an increase in biological activity. Seems to be concentrated in March, though no one knows why.
G. Polar Ice Meltdown: Greenpeace reports: The Polar Ice statistics using satellite photos shows that the polar sea ice shelf in the Arctic has declined 5.5 percent from 1980 to 1994...almost 1 million square kilometers of ice is now melted. This trend will cause a food chain collapse in the arctic if it continues at this rate.
H. New Earthquakes: The USGS speculates that the recent earthquakes in New Brunswick, Canada, are being caused by the decrease of weight because of the polar ice melt, since there are no active faults in this region.

III. Celestial Events

A. Sun activity - 

This has been very high since last summer, causing communications outages and electronic equipment damage.   The extreme burst of energy released by solar flares can also effect the sensitive communications satellites in orbit. 

According to scientists, if we get hit directly with a plasma burst of the wrong electromagnetic polarity, we could be incinerated. It works like magnets - one polarity pushes a magnet away, the other polarity attracts and grabs it.  If a flare is one polarity, the earth's polarity pushes it safely away, if it is the other polarity, it would actually attract it.  One such even occurred a couple of years ago, in which scientists didn't know what the plasma flare's polarity was. With no public notice, some scientists went to be with their families, some went outside at 3AM awaiting what might be their last moments.  Fortunately, it was the "good" polarity. But since the Sun and Earth and Nature seem to be set on cleansing itself of this destructive parasite we call the human race, it could still easily occur.  

In 2000, scientists announced that the Sun was actually changing into a different type of star.  

During the summer of 2000, solar activity got so severe that the Sun actually lost it's shape, looking like an egg splat on the wall, rather than a nice round ball (pics were available on the web).  During that time, thousands of unprecidented forest fires raged all across the Western United States.   Could it be that the Sun and Earth have high consciousness, a relationship, and work as a "team"?  According to our teachings, that is so. 

In the Art Bell Hopi Elder interview, the Hopi discuss a Solar pole-shift, and an Earth pole shift. The Sun was recently hit by two comets. various TV news programs covered a story on an "earthquake" on the Sun(???). They actually had pictures of circular ripples running through the Sun from the epicenter, that looked like someone threw a rock into a fiery pond!

IV.

A. Shanna Swan, Ph.D., Chief of Reproductive Epidemiology for the California Health Department states that the data collected between 1938 and 1990 in the United States indicates that the sperm count is decreasing at the rate of 1.5 percent per year. This means that the sperm count in 1938 was at 113 million per milliliter, and in 1990 it was at 66 million. The decrease in sperm rate in Europe is even more drastic, occurring at
3.1 % per year.
B. Bob Hunter (co-founder of Greenpeace), in his article "Disabled Semen", quotes Thoe Colborn's ground breaking book Our Stolen Future: "Unless the environmental load of synthetic hormone disrupters is abated and controlled, large-scale dysfunction at the population level is possible."
